How am I able to wire a house, but I can’t figure out a doorbell setup?
I’m trying to add a video door bell. Should be easy right? Not for me. It is like quantum theory.

I have a 16v 30va transformer (no problem there). I have a three voltage and a single. I have tried both. The problem is:
The doorbell button and chimes are wired independently. Here is how I have it setup:

The only other option is to put both reds on one terminal and both whites on the other terminal, but that will just provide continuous power to the doorbell button AND the chimes, which means the chimes will ring continuously and never turn off.
Someone call me an idiot and tell me what I’m doing wrong.

When I installed my ring, I ran into the same issue. I gave up and use the battery option.
