Today my hammer coral has withdrawn and I noticed this coming out of the base and stretching out to where it would normally be just under the outreached hammer. I have never seen an aptasia with a long tube on it so wanted to id it before I go mucking about with it. the length of the tube is a few inches

Pics fuzzy but I believe I see one. Keep removal simple. Using a syringe or pipette, inject either lemon juice or better yet. . kalkwasser powder mixed with tank water into a paste the consistency of toothpaste and inject into the very center core and it will melt away

If you are referring to the tube and head, it looks like a featherduster in some pics. The tube looks too solid for aptasia, and if more than an inch would be a big one. Does the head retract into the tube?

when I brush past it with a tongs it retracts, yes
