All coral slowly died.

parameters:
No3: between 20 and 30ppm
Po4: 0.03-0.06ppm

dosing:
0.7ml bacto balance
1ml mb7 (don't know why)
3ml AFR (ALK steady 7.8-8.0dkh)
3ml: kh2po4 (+0.03 in tank)
pH: 8.1-8.2

so, I only kept the blue LEDs, reduced them in % for a few days and completely siphoned the sand on the surface where there were traces of dino/whatever. there really weren't many, probably it could have seemed unnoticed to non-experienced eyes but I've been paranoid since these 6 years spent with the invaded aquarium.

since start of dino/etc...
dosing: vodka/vinegar/sugar at night.
anyway my No3 are a little high for my taste.
first week 1ml/55gallons
second week 2ml/55gallons
I slightly increased the white and cyan yesterday...
I'm waiting sand reaction.

Crash: tank doing good for 2 years... refugium full of cheato/algae/cyano/dino...

Need to move tank... almost emptying the tank... move refugium full of water
Since then...
tank develop algae/cyano/dino and refugium was clean...
I reduce light in tank and blast refugium whit light...
Transfering cyano and all the scrap from the tank to refugium.
The scrap died in refugium... what the heck ?
After 2 years i give up...
Stop water change... coral slowly dying after 2 years...

6 years later... here we are...
Clean tank, change sand, peroxide on rock...
4 months total blackout and dosing vodka/vinegar/sugar/mb7.

FIGHT !

No more trace of dino, so i :
Vacuum the sand yesterday and finish by a storm + 5micron socks
Dosing 4ml VSV at night about to slow down when NO3 hit the 15 ppm.

I'm going to wait a few days before turning the lights up "slowly". anyway no coral has complained so far.

Start:
10,24,03,03,33,24%
3 day:
00,00,00,00,10,00%
1week:
00,00,00,00,24,24%
week2:
05,12,00,00,18,12.%

week5:

week6:

I'm starting to find this extra tank more and more practical. it is connected to the system and I used it initially for the cheato.
then to put the new frag in observation.
then why not a freshly arrived fish.
then a forest fire waiting to emerge from its ashes.
1000002315.jpg

then recently I saw some aptasia appear.
so I added 3 Peppermint shrimp inside. 1 week later it was done.

I rarely see aptasia in the DT, I rely on the filter sock to prevent the worst from getting through... but hey, if it happens I use epoxy or crazy glue.... it's not a emergency but you have to react now, no procrastination allowed!

Today seeing a young aptasia emerge in the DT on my "problematiques rock"...
well...
this extra tank has won another additional role...
★aptasia cleaning station★

I just took the rock out and put it in...
We can see the traces of old combat in the photo.
1000002314.jpg

I also took the opportunity to mistreat some vermetid snails.

at least all my rocks from the DT can be taken out without disturbing the hard scape. this "fuge" is like a Swiss army knife...
