I have the smartdrift 7,1 pump that has the same controller i think. Could not get it to connect to my phone no matter what i tried and gave up.
wifi signal flashing and holding down the button for 5 sec like the app said. always get a fail to connect.
Would have returned it if the bloody pump was not so good.

this is exactly the same issue and like you say its a great quiet pump but we are not getting the full use out of it with the different modes only in the app

Hi Guys

so i have been in contact with the Australian distributer who was kind enough to share a video

some things that i took away from this video was:
- enable location services in wifi
- holding the wifi button on the controller for around 7 seconds which the flashing rate of the wireless icon

i also had to do some reconfiguration of my 2.4ghz wireless ssid.

i am running a Netgear Night Hawk xr1000
- changed SSID security from "WPA-Personal [TKIP] +WPA2-personal[AES]" to WPA2-Personal[AES]
- i had an SSID with spaces so i removed the spaces (im not sure if this was the actual fix)
- changed the "mode" down from 600Mbps to 54Mbps (im not sure if this was the actual fix)
- assigned a wireless channel instead of having it set to auto (im not sure if this was the actual fix)

once i had made the configuration changes i was able to connect and sync the pump witin 15-20 of it searching

i hope this help anyone in the future!
