Has anyone built an automated way to make salt water? I'm thinking something along the line of an automatic feeder that dumps into an rodi tank with auto top off?

It could be done but to be done right it would be very expensive and the upkeep/PCM would probably be more work than doing it by hand.

It would have to dump salt then test sg.
Not very practical. It's easy to make up salt once a month or weekly based on your needs.

Neat idea but probably way more complicated and expensive then mixing yourself. You would have to get your recipe pretty dialed in perfectly. I’m not sure if a float valve is completely consistent so metering water in might be necessary. You would also need a programmable dispenser for solids while avoiding caking in the reservoir. All this, and you still might need tweak things at the end which would entail as much effort as making a batch from scratch.
