Hello! Every time I perform a sandbed clean up, my corals are not so happy for one or two days. After that everything get back to normal. As I have green cyano on the sand, my method is to suck out in a bucket the first layer of sand that comes off with the cyano. After that, I will wash it with aquarium water and put it back into aquarium. Do you think is to harsh? How do you manual remove Cyano, as you know that when you try to suck Cyano from sand, it will come off with a little bit of sand in it? It is possible to have a nutrient spike? Thank you!

Put a filter sock in your sump and use a gravel vac to siphon the sand bed while collecting all the water in the sock in your sump. Don’t do more than 1/4 of your sand bed every few days as the tank needs time to adjust.
