So it might take a few moves before it’s settled?
Yes. I have two croceas that have been in the same location for about a year, then out of nowhere, they both jumped off their rock. So something in the system triggered something in them to move? I've since created a slightly wider surface for them, so hopefully they'll stay put?

No idea what the trigger was? I mean other than solid params, correct lighting and flow what else they need?

Did it attach to the floor when it fell of? What happened before the forth day?
It attached to the bottom part of the rock it was on, so I couldn't get in there to cut the threads, so I left it for a few days and changed the flow a little, hoping it would want to move and it did. It tried to attach to the substrate, which is oolite sand, so it was very easy to pick up and place back on the rock. It attached to the rock within a few hours (in it's old spot).

What’s the secret to cutting the threads? Mine ironically is on a clam shell covered in furry mushrooms so couldn’t leave it there at the bottom left in a corner so put it under a rock since I can move the mushy rock where I want

You need a razor blade to carefully cut the threads at the attachment point on the rock, not the clam side. You want to cut the threads as far from the clam as possible, this minimizes damage to the byssal organ, which you want to avoid completely.

I really don’t want to risk cutting it, I’ll keep on with what I’m doing for now and saving cutting it until tomorrow as it’ll be without light for 2 days then

Ive brought the clam out from the dark , it’s 180 degrees and it goes kinda loose , I guess only half its threads are attached so I could nudge it off when it’s half loose? I guess it’ll damage just half its threads ?

Where is the foot? In the middle? Or doesn’t it use it for attaching ? I’m under the impression that I’m to avoid damaging its food but Basel threads not a problem?
Better pic attached

Don’t pull the clam while it’s attached, the threads are attached to the byssal organ. If there’s room enough to cut the threads near the rock, then cut them one by one until it’s free. Cut the threads where they attach at the rock and not near the clam. You ships be able to slightly tilt the clam while you cut the threads, just go slowly.

Do you cut the byssal ? What am I looking for? When I disturb it it pulls back against the rock
