Can anyone identify these critters?

So I dipped an Oregon blue tort and some of these came off. Are these the dreaded black bugs or what? They do move and can move fast when they start.

They appear to be ciliates, a lower form of life than the dreaded “Bugs” - as far as I know.

I found this critter was an Ostracod, at least the smaller one of the two in the picture. It does not seem to be of any harm, but does seem to prefer hanging out at the base of my Oregon Tort acro.

I just wanted to update this in case anyone has a similar experience.
