Just bought an old ballast. No labels on this dual magnetic metal halide ballast any where. The connector to the fixture is the same as on an Aqua Medic Cube M80. On the bottom “2 X 250 “ is hand written on the metal.

I will open it tomorrow to see if I can figure anything out, but cannot see any thing helpful through the vents. I think it only has the transformers and capacitors. No ignitors (that I can see).

Any ideas? Did Aqua Medic make probe start ballasts? I hope it is a dual M80 but maybe not.

Iirc, the difference between probe and pulse start is a extra electrode and no igniter on the probe start

The transformers are clearly labeled as M58. No ignitors. I know what bulbs to use with it, but surprised there were just no labels like Aqua Medic, Sunlight Supply, etc. It is assembled well. Maybe back in the day these could be assembled as DIY?

The connectors are like Aqua Medic Reeflex Cube but don’t know if that really means these were an Aqua Medic product.
