Hi everyone!

About two months ago we got two clarkii clownfish. At the store they seemed to get along and shared an anemone. in quarantine they always stayed together, the smaller often would swim right under the larger and did little dances for it. The larger just seemed to tolerate the behavior, and would just leave the tiny guy to his business.
However a few days ago we transferred them to the main tank and from day one the Large clown has been bullying the smaller. She doesn't attack him really but she... herds him? She swims most of the entire 4ft tank but will shoot across it to keep him behind the heater, it's like he is not aloud to be out at all She herself has taken up residents at the local BTA but he is only aloud out from behind the heater to eat, and only if she is distracted enough to let him. Do clownfish unbond? Or is it just a reaction to the environment and actually being with other fish? Does anyone think the smaller clown is in danger or should I just give them more time?
Any advice would be great thanks for your time!

This sounds like normal clownfish behavior. As long as she is not doing any physical damage then you should be okay to let it be. Aggression and dominance (particularly of the female toward the male) is normal and part of the way that they are wired.

How much do you care about having a display FREE of wires, pumps and equipment?
