I bought a CBB today. I have wanted one for a long time and I have a HUGE population of tiny feather dusters.

Problem is that the purple and sailfin tangs have been harrassing the heck out of him. Is there anything I can do to ease the tension?

Thanks,
Rob

Rob turn off the lights in the tank for a day. That will help.

Also you feed a little bit here and there when you see aggression getting bad.

Is the CBB eating?

Hard to tell. I just got him today. He was "supposedly" eating at the LFS. They have had him for over a week. I am sure I will be able to get him to eat based on other locals' similar experiences. However, I am also certain that will not occur if the others continue to aggravate him.

I've had a CBB for about half a year now, and in the beginning, my Sailfin was really mean. I ended up putting an acrylic partition up for a little while so the CBB would recover, but I ended up having to donate the Sailfin to Steinhart Aquarium in SF because he was such a bully. If you don't find a way to keep the CBB safe for a while, he could die of stress or just never eat and die of starvation. I stuff goodies (clams, mysis, krill) in the rock for him to eat and he loves it. Now he tries to eat things out of my hand before I stuff the rock. But if your tank is too small for all of them, you may have to make a choice. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Jen. tank is 225G and certainly enough room for all of them. I need to find a mirror. All I have is a little 2 x 2 inch one and that don't work.

got a mirror. fish are all fairly well distracted. CBB seems to be doing fine and appears to be picking at the rocks.

Good
