I have attached a pic of something I have noticed on my glass recently. I assumed they were copepods but I haven’t cleaned my glass in a couple days and as they get larger they seem to be taking a different shape than I associate with pods.

Also, although it’s too small to get a pic, I have a very small thin worm type creature on my glass this morning as well. It’s about the thickness of a hair and maybe a 1/4 in long and seems translucent. Any ideas?

I have recently had a spirobid worm explosion so not sure if it has to do with that.

The critters in the pic are medusa-stage hydroids - they prey on things like pods. They typically clear out the pod population and then disappear on their own.

Without pics, I can’t say what the worm is, but it almost certainly is unrelated to the Spirorbid worms.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
