Recently finish putting together a 48x24x10 Acrylic Peninsula style Lagoon tank. I like the aesthetics of a shallow tank and having two large panels to view it from.
The tank is an Advanced Acrylics frag tank with a black bottom and ordered it with 2 returns pre-drilled. For the overflow I chose the Eshopps Prodigy L being the thinnest low profile overflow I could install
I drilled the holes for the overflow myself. It was a bit of a nerve-wracking task.
I also DIYed the stand using some large pieces of finished plywood and cutting them to size.
I chose to make the total setup height to 48" so I could comfortably work on the tank from above.
The sump is a Fiji Cube Fiji-36 Advanced Reef Sump 2nd Gen. This one was the best suited I could find for plumbing a custom peninsula tank.
I always liked the look of grey and blue color combo for plumbing.
All in all I think this came out pretty clean for my first plumbing job.
Here are a couple of shots of the rockscape I built under 2 hanging radion xr15 gen 6's. Too many hours went into this.
.....And this is how its currently sitting filled with oolite sand a couple of gallons of saltwater and some bacteria....
Im super happy with how it all came out and excited to fill this up in the near future. If anyone has any questions don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to update this thread as it progresses if anyone is interesting on the journey.
Happy Reefing!
