Had a question, does alk or cal that is mixed up settle in a container? Like does the alk eventually get more concentrated at the bottom of the container if not shaken? Was wondering because I wanted to raise my alk from 7.8 to 8. The calculator said add 1 oz to do this. I added 1 oz and it almost went to 9 alk.

If it is clear, then it doesn't concentrate with depth. But the alk part is close to its solubility limit in many two parts, and so there may be undissolved solids present. If you sucked up a bunch of solids, that could give an unusually high burst.

Also, the combination of kit inaccuracy and volume estimate errors (of both the tank and the addition) can skew the results.
