Im looking to dose some amino acids. I currently and dosing AFR to maintain the big 3; I have a few Digi, monti cap, purple stylo, La Lakers scroll, green and red candy canes. What's the best amino acid to dose?

I would question the need to dose amino acids. As a form of dissolved organic N if there's an existing build up of nitrate adding more nitrogen may only add to it. There's also the question of having enough phosphorus as an increase in nitrogen availability might increase demand for it potentially creating a deficiency for corals.

Personally I feel they are all the same. I lean towards AquaForest products, but I can't confirm that AF amino's are better than Brightwell or Red Sea or anyone's else's.

With that said, I've given up on amino's, it seems to me that every time I start dosing amino's I end up with a cyano problem. So I stopped dosing amino's, and no more cyano problems.

Has anyone tried Potassium Nitrate? This seems like a double-win.

What is your goal? To raise nitrates?
Some dose ammonium bicarb for this, thinking the ammonia is a more usable form.

Yes, B-Ionic Nitrate… but you won’t have to dose it continuously… just to raise your levels so that you’re not starving your corals. Good for when you’re just starting a new tank, or when you’re bacteria dosing/ZEObak

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
