doing an aquascape with real reef rock. all new but I had a few pieces from an old biuld wanted to use been out of water for around a 18+ months maybe 2 years by now.
so I did a vinegar/water soak just to kill any possible algae that might have been on the rocks. i guess its a know issues with these rocks of you bleach or vinegar soak them the dye will come off. so i am let with a ton of white on the rocks. not the end of the world just does not match the new rocks and stand out like a sour thumb.
anyway thinking about splashing some paint or dye on them just to get some color.
this product I have been curious for some time:

here is a product demo on dry rock:
thoughts?
I will be setting up a larger tank in a few months and was gonna go real reef rock but this might be a solution along with some dry rock for that tank as well.
I do wonder if it clogs the pours on the rock and makes the bio-filtration less effective?
