Unique Corals was founded with the mission of supporting a conscientious, sustainable and responsible marine livestock industry.
Our goal is to be your top online source for sustainably collected, aquacultured, and captive-bred marine livestock, and we have partnered with some of the best collectors, propagators, and breeders to help achieve that goal.
Today, we are very excited to announce that Unique Corals is the launch partner for ReefGen, a new operation founded by Laura Birenbaum and Justin Credabel, in collaboration with Joe Yaiullo. ReefGen delivers on the promise of providing consumers with a healthy domestic alternative for marine livestock.
ReefGen produces premium aquacultured coral, invertebrates, fishes and sharks. Their farm is located in Riverhead, NY and works closely with Joe Yaiullo, curator at the Long Island Aquarium. Here, Joe and his talented staff of professional aquarists, including breeding specialist Todd Gardner, are famed for their extraordinary accomplishments in aquaculture of marine ornamentals.
Joe’s 12-year-old, 20,000-gallon reef tank is renowned as the largest collection of captive grown corals in the world, some of which have been around for more than 21 years. ReefGen is a wholesale aquaculture company founded by Laura Birenbaum and Justin Credabel, who have worked with the aquarium to develop their existing aquaculture accomplishments into a large-scale sustainable resource of captive-propagated fish and corals for the aquarium trade.
Look for a large selection of premium, captive-propagated livestock from ReefGen on Unique Corals website (Unique Corals Home Page).
For the first time, hobbyists will have the opportunity to purchase an extraordinary selection of coral propagated from Joe’s iconic reef aquarium, as well as extremely rare captive-bred animals. We will be offering more items, including very rare captive-bred Basslets, Chain Dog Sharks, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, and others, as soon as they become available.
This is a big day for hobby, and we look forward to bringing this truly unique livestock lineup to you! Please join us in supporting this extraordinary collaboration!
Be bold. Be passionate. Be unique.
Regards,
Joseph Caparatta and Scott Fellman
