Fin rot or nipping? Blue regal tang

Hi,

Can someone please give me some advice.. my blue regal tang's fin is damaged. How can I tell if this is fin rot or nipping? Is anyone able to tell for me please and give me some advice on what to do?

This is clearly aggression from nipping
This will heal on its own but first you must find the aggressor

The term "fin rot" is kind of a strange one. It isn't really a specific disease. It can mean bacterial infection after some damage is done to the fins.

That looks like damage to me too. What else is in the tank?

One way to find your aggressor:
Set your cell phone on video mode for about 40 mins and drop a little food and walk away - YOU MUST walk away as they know youre there. Often the aggressor is a bully at feeding time.
Review the video and see who it may be

Thank you for the help! I put a camera to record and saw that it's a clownfish which is the aggressor. Is there anyway I can help without having to move the tang to another tank?

Maybe he needs to learn to stay away from the clown.
Hopefully the message is sent, maybe the nips will subside without other intervention?
Fin damage will repair.
