Couple new additions:

Leptastrea - I hope this is the right name.
Polyps are pink. My wife liked, that was enough reason to buy.
It's still not opening polyps after the dip.

The clumsy guy here while putting glue and putty to the new plug, accidentally rubbed putty in the frag on the right side as u can see.

I hope it recovers and grows over. When I saw it was already hardened.
-Any opinions or experiences to share?

I bought two, lets hope they eat aiptasias. I always wanted to breed shrimp.. so let's see what happens.

Good! Everything seems to go fine.. for my self i experienced some problems, the AI Prime HD i ve buy (second hand) just stopped working. I'm a bit down after thinking of those 140€ fleeing away from my hand. Dunno which option i should go for, the Kessil A80 seems nice. I'm hesitating. It's a lesson learnt : never buy second hand led.

I'm a bit down after thinking of those 140€ fleeing away from my hand. Dunno which option i should go for, the Kessil A80 seems nice. I'm hesitating. I would suggest a k7 mini noopsyche.
Its not a high end, its chinese but makes a good job.
I paid 88 bucks for a new last christmas.
$ per watt I think you can't beat their price.

I finally ended up buying a new AI Prime.. won't give a chance to second hand lights anymore lol.
Will save money on other points like : only buying microscopic frags lol.
But thanks for your advice!

I poured chaetogro and iron this morning, so they are not very fluffy.

hey that's a very very clean progression, usually the white rock starts are very invaded at this stage. something is making a marked difference here for sure/corals look great too well done. it's fun to have a strong and compliant system like that

And I have to report that both peppermint shrimp did a great job eating all small size aiptasias.
They literally bulldoze them all in the first night.
Most of the time they stay under cover in the back of the rocks. Sometimes I think that lights are too strong for them.

I think my tank got infected after I added that SPS frag. I was looking the tank at the shop where I bought it and they were all over.

In the video you can see still a big fat aiptasia. That one I will need to take care differently. It is already too big for the shrimp mouths.

-Do you believe that "kalk cream" would disturb much the sistem? I'm still hesitant to do... thought about buying some chemical too... what do you think?

All my frags were 20-30 buck range.

Yesterday I saw a nice cloves frag but it was attached to the entire big three. $120 nah... I will pass. I'm still worried how to move the bowl to the new apartment without destroying everything.

I would never use anything but direct surgery on aiptasia

Other methods we can search out using injections/paste have examples of compounding the issue via fragmentation.

Surgery= remove rock set on counter

Take a sharpened and cleaned flathead screwdriver and a tap hammer, tap the flat edge with precision up under the anemone, taking some rock surface the pedal cells are attached to along the way. Extract the polyp and leave a small golf divot behind where it used to be, plant a new coral in its place=fixed in one pass. Set rock back

Do you believe that "kalk cream" would disturb much the sistem?

Kalk (calcium hydroxide powder) mixed with a little sodium hydroxide, applied correctly, will not spread them. Yeah, a few more will pop up, but they were there anyhow. Leave all flow off for 90 minutes, alkalinity increase is minimal. If you don’t “do” chemicals, you can use F-Aiptasia.

Btw had the same problem w peppermint shrimp, mine ate the little ones but can't take care of one which is enormous and wondered how to kill it, so i'm glad you asked.

Also still very envious of this little lid you manage to do.

There's nothing special on it. It's a petg disk.

You will need to make a small notch to pass the cables. If you are not using something like a canister should be fairly easy.

I bet you guys remember of an anemone which was not looking alright in the past.

It was sitting in the back of the bowl for a while and both shrimp decided to live there.

Now guess what. I saw the shrimp literally punching the anemone. I had to interfere and separate the fight. Now the anemone is upset and decided to attach in the glass.

I started to think about moving the aiptasia rock to the back where shrimp lives.

Kh is solid at 10. I started to notice some rocks reducing size.



The New frag is happy. During the evenings it extend polyps.

For the ones thinking my energy bill is high, let me present some numbers:

-First is circulation pump
-Second is heater
-Third is lights

Total of 21 kWh month.
Times $0.17 per kWh
= $3.57 in energy per month or $42.84 year. Less than a dinner.

All itens are conected to a Kasa Smart plug power strip HS300 which makes this report automatically. No need for a Neptune Apex nothing against, I would love to have one.

Poured last Saturday some kryptonite.
1.5ml / 0.05oz makes already a big show.
I only dose once a week.

I noticed that pink coral and favites are not very happy with the current lights.

I reduced the intensity a bit. Let's see how it goes.

Sps is with an escavation. I can't understand what made this on it. I suspect the shrimp did. Dunno.

I'm a bit frustrated honestly.
Writing this to reflect about what I did - or what I guess - wrong in here.

Favia is bleaching.
I can't think anything else than the previous setup of lights simply burned then to death.

Lessons learned... cracking up the lights to please the SPS created bad side effects.
For a future setup I would not buy a sps as the height oftthese bowls is not big enough to create areas with high mid and low light intensity.

Right now, i think there is no much to do with this favia. - suggestions are welcome.

Zoas started to grow again in that area where they were dissapearing. I would say that the lights are less insense and they liked.

The pink one does not look very good. I took out of the frag plug and placed in the gravel. It extend polyps during night. I'm a newbie with this kind of coral so it may be only a wrong interpretation of its behavior.

I got some blurry picture of my scape. I'm planning to add some dragon breath algae, codium, and a piece of red montipora digita. For now there's only this tiny piece of lobophytum + snails (trochus and nassarius). The peppermint shrimp died, maybe of starvation..? I've add sand in a wild and silly way, i think it killed it.

Yes lights are 8 to midnight but from 10pm ahead is extremely low. Less than 10% of power.

I think one of mine peppermint shrimp also died - or was most likely killed.

I'm about to finally move to a new apartment.
Tomorrow will be the day I plan to remove the rocks and begin the process. It's gonna be a mess.
