This tank is going to be dedicated to SPS.

First things first, my kitchen QT with 2 clowns. Safety Stop dip then 30 day observation only.

Put this “Red Dragon” in 3 weeks ago, seems to be doing fine and base is spreading. Cycled the sump for 6 weeks before DT was plumbed in, some 8 weeks ago.

Well, yeah. Quite a bit has happened. I nuked the red dragon it appears, the week after the above pic, but I will gloss over that one (I’ve since ordered a seneye for the PAR function from Santa ).

Anyhow, since that incident I’ve set the lights at the BRS values for the lights and added these;

They seem ok to me, with the odd bit here and there changing form and growing. That’s about 4 weeks in the tank now.

I’ve also just started a small horizontal ATS in sump. I’ve still gotta get a proper light as I’m using an old grow lamp at present.

I’ve put a UV on because I was sick of a bacterial bloom that was persistent. Water is crystal clear now and has been since its installation.

Hermits and snails have done a grand job in tidying up the rock work, pumps and bare bottom.

The wife bought these corals with a strict “I want zoas” demand, so that’s why they are in there

Final 2020 update. All is going swimmingly well;

Update on simple horizontal scrubber. Phos (Elos) and nitrate zero on salifert but obviously not the case. Flow through sump from right hand side, scrubber tile about 1 inch under water surface. First pic is 3 weeks old, scrape and freshwater dip every 2 weeks after initial week. Now it’s started to really take off;

Went to the LFS to peruse the dosing pumps. As it happens they didn’t have any and ended up just getting an alkalinity test kit. However, the wife was in the livestock section and purchased this;
