I just did a water change, and the parts of cyanobacteria exposed to air turned bright red after about 5 minutes; it was like a neon red color that subsided a little while after it was resubmerged with water.

I could not get a photo because my phone was not picking it up. Has anyone heard of this before/know why this happens? It was pretty cool.
