Hello team,

Will freezing a starfish prior to feeding my harlequin shrimp, prevent pathogens from entering the aquarium (through starfish)?

Nathan
Probably depends on the type of pathogen.
Will the harlequin eat frozen?
I bought some sand sifters and a chocolate chip.
Been cutting a leg every 5 days or so for my harlequin.
Starfish scattered in 3 tanks

I have heard you can freeze then feed ever tried and not sure if they will take to it immediately the only difference is if you feed live it says alive even during feeding but frozen will decompose very quick but would not be that big of a deal if in a large enough water volume

I'm not if freezing would kill the pathogens or make it dormant. I have an idea that idea sounds absurd but it could work. If you put it in the microwave for a minute or two it should kill all pathogens. I don't know if the shrimp would still eat it though.
