It has been a long time coming but the time is here. Finally I have my chance to build my next tank. I has been 3.5 years since I tore down my 225g reef when we sold our home. With the recent purchase of a new home, the first priority has been to set up my new tank. I learned so much during the 10 years of my last tank and can't wait to apply that knowledge.
RIP to my 225g reef !

So the termite tent came off 7-7-17 . And here is the room of the tank wall complete with the granny curtains.

Demo began 7-8-17 with scraping the old school popcorn off of the ceilings.

And on 7-9-17 demo began on the floors

Can't wait for it . I am still looking for an opportunity to acquire a Greg Carroll Efflo .. think I saw it in reefbuilders and it just blew me away .
Always wondered what happened to the mother colony .

Regards,
Abhishek

Abhishek,
This will be a complete restart. I have no plans to add any corals from the last tank. I gave away virtually all of the livestock. Much of it died as moving a large SPS colonies is not advisable. The change and flow pretty much made it impossible for their survival. Many of the large colonies were lost. The good thing is there were so many fragments of my colonies out there, if I wanted them I could easily acquire frags. If you're looking for my efflorescence, contact World Wide Corals as they have a huge colony in their store display from a frag that they got for me probably 7 or so years ago.

Thanks for the reply . Sad to hear that the huge ones perished . I know Adam from battlecorals have the Greg C Efflo too .. so we still have options to get hold of that classic !!

Abhishek

Yes, forgot about Adam! He even reached out to me a while back offering a frag!

Ohhh, you are that Greg Carroll. I have your efflo. Bought it from Adam. Almost died during my resent tank upgraded. It literally was down to one polyp, but now (2 months later) it has (re)grown a couple inches.

Your old tank is stupendous, btw!

Congrats Greg! I've own many Ultimate Greg series corals and the one that keeps me staring at my tank is the ultimate efflo. I'm local to you so if you ever want a piece, it's yours. I would love to reseed the ultimate efflo to the ultimate Greg.
