You recommended to test the Nitrate using Salifret, and you recommend to keep the level between 1-3 PPM. However, Salifret results colour sheet shows 0-2-5-......., how do you estimate if it is 1 and 3?
by estimating....
when it's slightly darker than 2,5 but far more lighter than 5.

the values mentionef are guidlines
you don't have to be that precise..
when it's between 0,5 and 5ppm it's just fine.
fine tuning can be learned by routine and watching the corals.

how to remove a Cyano blanket

cyano seems to thrive where aptasia apears. There a few reasons for that.
- aptasia offspring settles in low current area
- food and detritus also settle at the same area.) imo Cyano thrive where detritus settles)
- most fish and cleaning animals avoid Area with aptasia

so when things deteriorate it get worst. Human intervention is necessary or it will (can) spread to other area.

That worked very well. Did you hook a small pump to the tubing or did you just start a manual siphon? Also, what's your preferred method of ridding the aptasia?

Can you give us an update on the dymico? I've been very curious about this myself and have been wanting to do one on an a display tank. Please do update us! What are you using to control the injection and monitoring?

Just gravity

Aptasia is injected or covered with a 10% caustic soda solution or 80% acetate.
Depending on position and size i prefer the one over the other.

Are you able to publicly speak about the dymico unit you are experimenting with?
I can't share details because it's still in development. Most systems seems to work just fine. We need to overcome some problems in some system, but the developers are working hard to find a universal solution to this problem.

Thanks for the response. I wish we could be more privy! All I know is what Wijgerde has published online but very curious to hear how it works on a private display tank. Hopefully you can reveal some updates for us in the near future!

Edit: I did find some updated pictures from this month on their Facebook page.
