Does anybody know what this is? Looks like some really weird growth on my duncan.

Also looks like you got some aptasia peaking out in the background
We do, we bought a macro alge and after it was to late found an apatasia on there. Removed it and a few weeks later we found another on on the rock close to where the macro was and then another in the filter head and now we have 20. Bought a copperband butterfly to eat them but it's not working yet.

So if I can't remove it what do you think it is? My wife said it looks like a cluster of heads may be growing but I wasn't sure that they could grow out of the side like that. Can they?

Its hard to tell because those new pictures are blurry but the new pictures kind of look like its getting a little less irregularly shaped which I find odd for a sponge. Ive never watched a duncan sprout a new head but I have seen them sometimes grow heads out of the skeleton where it was fragged.

Here it is 12 days later.. still don't know what this is. Whatever it is, it's growing. It almost looks like a cluster of heads but I can't tell. A few of my Duncan's have grown 5+ heads at the same time so maybe... Any word from someone here?
