First time using a Hanna Checker. I have the low range Phosphate unit and got a reading of .93. My tank is just 6 weeks old.

Question is the conversion Apex Fusion does. When I enter. 93 and enter the correct HI713 test kit, the "result" number below says .32ppm.

When I go to the Measurements tab it shows the .93 reading.

Which one is correct and if someone could explain the two numbers? Thanks!

I believe the 713 is reporting phosphate in ppm. There is a Checker that reports phosphate as phosphorous in ppb. Phosphate is about 3 times heavier than phosphorous.

I wonder if Apex is converting your phosphate reading into a phosphorous reading.

Very likely the correct test kit is not selected in Fusion. When entering P04, click the dropdown and confirm you have it set for the correct kit. HI736 is the kit that measures ppb.

Okay, I think what I did wrong was entering the reading before selecting the correct test kit. With the HI713 selected 1st now I enter .93 it's the same in the results.

Looks like I need to do some water changes.
