Help identifying sex of fish

I acquired a skilletfish (Gobiesox strumosus) about 2 months ago and it’s thriving in my tank. Just wondering how I could identify the sex of it so I can try and find a mate for it.

I think you might ask it what pronouns it prefers? Othewise, these things can be very tricky and something to avoid in polite company. Good Luck

I think it prefers being a male but honestly I’m not entirely sure. Most fish go off the fin near the anal cavity but I’m not sure if it’s that way for every fish
