So I have an outbreak of light green palythoa on my glass and I want them gone! I have read horror stories about palytoxin both with people and their tanks. Is there any way I can remove them and not risk crashing my tank? Any way if identifying which actually contain palytoxin? Please share any knowledge and or experience. Thanks in advance. I have attached a picture. They're now starting to over take my setosa. Please spare me the lines about not hurting them and sending them to you instead. I mean that with the up most respect.

A razor blade should do the trick IMO. Just put some gloves on and do this right before you do a water change. It should be a fairly easy task just as long as you go slow & pay attention to what your doing. GL

Thank you. Maybe removing a few at a time and loading up a reactor with good carbon will help too. Tank is full of sps and I'm so scared of crashing my tank lol

My BTA seems to have really ticked off many of them by its tentacles making contact. I do not run carbon regularly. Could this be a sign that they do not contain palytoxin? Just wishful thinking

If you can remove the whole rock, put it under the sun for few weeks. Best still, put it in the municipal garbage dump and call it the day.

Razor blade and syphoning them out at the same time while doing water changes.
Remove what you can each time. Take it easy.
Gloves!

Add Caustion: Don't touch you face or anything else until after the gloves come off and you wash your hands and arms (any part that was in the water).
