Hi Everyone. I'm here to sell misc salt water aquarium supplies

My husband loved the hobby. Unfortunately, he passed away. The livestock has been safely rehomed. However, he had quite a bit of hardware, devices, equipment & trinkets to support the hobby. Not sure of the value / need for any of it. But, plan to list here before taking everything to the dump. Thanks.

Welcome to the Reef. You need to get a list together if possible and put in the for sale section. If you have a local saltwater store you can ask them if they have interest instead of the dump.

Unfortunately used equipment is a tough sell.
My personal feeling is you are lucky to get 1/2 of what you bought it for.
You will have to put a price on everything when you list it per forum rules.
When I sold the big tank, I listed everything @ 1/2 of purchase prices of 10 years prior & it sold pretty fast.

I would try not to dump anything. You may be able to make some money back. There are lots of knowledgeable people here who can help you figure out the value of the items. Could you post pictures?

I'm very sorry to hear of your husband's passing. There are some very nice folks here that will be honest with you about pricing. If you wanted to post pics and ask here before making your sale thread, we can probably help you figure out what things are too. For the record, if he said he spent 25.00 for it...that may not be true

Was thinking of starting with the refractometers and skimmers first.... Or any thoughts on what to start with (because he probably has it...would be helpful.

I think it would be easier for you to sell it all as one big tank package for someone. It seems you have a lot of nice equipment and selling it as one complete lot could be a good deal for someone wanting to get into the hobby and want to have everything they need at once!

I am in Avon, IN. The pictures are not great and I haven't started organizing everything, yet. And there is probably more I haven't found.
