So I am sure this is out there some where but I've been havering difficulty finding it. I have a 75g currently fowlr but ultimately a reef(waiting for fuge to set). Currently I have a clean up crew and two b/w clowns. My question is what's a good rule of thumb when it comes to how many fish I can add to a tank that size.

Filtration is a big one but also depends on sizes is too...always plan for max growth. You also can look to see where they hang out at as u don't want 10 fish that all stay at bottom or middle etc.

75g can support several smaller fish. I would probably recommend no more than 20 fish total and significantly less if they are fish that will outgrow the tank eventually (such as most Tangs). What were your stocking plans and we can go from there?

your tank is much too small for a blue hippo. one yellow tang may work. marine betta's will eat anything it can fit in it's mouth. for the fish you like/want you need a larger tank.

Clowns- two are fine. Unless you are doing a strict clownfish anemone tank.
Yellow tangs- I hope you mean ONE yellow.
WAY too small for a hippo tang, even the yellow tang is pushing it. A tomini or kole tang would of been better suited for a 75.
I would avoid a eel with smaller fish, even though snowflakes are natural invert eaters smaller fish are at risk.

Yellow tang(S) - I hoe

Do t let the tang police get you down. You can put a small hippo in there for a year or 2 but you have to be prepared to find it a new home eventually. It will outgrow it.

Yea no offense but I don't wanna buy fish that I'm not going to be able to keep. I like the idea of having it for a while but the idea if spending that kind if money on something to get rid of later isn't my game.

small or large, tangs need lots of room. yes, you can put it in the tank for a while, but is it going to be a healthy fish? read about all the problems people have with tangs and ich and you'll find that many have them in tanks too small. it's your call, but you must realize that one outbreak of ich, and your whole tank is infected. I have a four foot 120 gal. tank and as much as I love tangs, I won't put one in my tank. too many other beautiful fish you can add without the worries.
