I’m try to run an SPS dominant mixed reef in a reefer 425 (4ft long 90 gal). My tank is young with just a few frags for now. I started off with 2 MP40s on the back wall and then added 2 of the larger gyres that I placed vertically along each over flow and pointed towards the back corners. I added another smaller gyre on one of the side walls. I’m currently running the larger gyres at 30%, the MP40s on reef crest at 40% and the smaller side gyre on 80%. How do I know if I have too much flow or too little? Is it possible to have too much?

As long as you don’t blast the direct flow right at the frags, you’re fine. I have 2 MP40s and 2 WAVs all running 90% at their peak, granted my tank is full. What you have now is more than enough and yes, the more [flow] the merrier!
