Hi, i've been struggling for a while to get my nutrients in control.

I want to aim for a po4 of 0.10 and no3 10 of that is the correct balance.

In my system it seems to be difficult to obtain those levels, so i am asking myself what am i doing wrong to control them in the right way

Could you provide tank size, age, parameters, livestock, any dosing and a full tank picture?
The tank is a waterbox 90gallon that is been running now for 2 years.

My latest parameters were

Dkh 8.0 stable
Ca 440
Mg 1500
No3 15
Po4 0.08

They seem to be good but the balance for cyano preventing is not good i think because i have them mostly showing up.

Livestock.

5 bleu leg lobsters
1 6stripe wrasse
1 blenny
1 aipyaisia eating filefish
1 cromidis

And some sps corals like montipora which are doing fine.

My Sump is the original sump with a skimmer nysos 200 and a refugium.

I also dose nopox like 6ml / day

That is beyond my skills to diagnose, but now I really want to see a FTS. Sounds awesome.

What is a FTS?

It also goes beyond my experience, is my 4 th tank and never had such difficult issues. The only difference with this thank is that i started it up with dead rock instead of live rock.

Cyanobacteria growth is unlikely to be influenced by nitrate and phosphate concentrations, and definitely not by the ratio of nitrate and phosphate, nor small deviations from 10 ppm nitrate and 0.1 ppm phosphate.

There is anecdotal evidence that dosing NOPOX or vodka is associated with cyanobacteria growth. Difficult to know whether that is just a coincidence.

Maybe explore other reasons for cyanobacteria in a two year old system.

Seems that a water change would lower the no3. 33.333% will give you 10ppm.

And 0.08 po4 is close enough, no?

This is really a minor change, don't over complicate things.

Happy reefing.
