So I didn't exactly hook up all my electronics for this update. But I did fill it with water! Yaaaaay water! The overflow is a little louder than I would like, but I guess that happens when your used to having a bean animal overflow lol. For circulation I went with 2 vortech mp10wES's I had laying around. Next up is my light rack and trying to get this overflow to quiet down some more lol

Got some more stuff done today. I took advantage of my snow day off from work lol.

I made my light rack out of electrical conduit. I don't think it came out that bad. Don't mind the zip ties, I forgot to get the bolts needed to mount the light, I'll finish this up tomorrow hopefully.

Painted the "drawer" for my electronics. I also ran the aquabus cable from my apex on the 180 to this system. I mounted everything via Velcro strips, so if I ever need to move anything around it will be easy to remove.

Next up is the finish the light rack, finish up getting all the apex stuff done and getting a reactor hooked up.

Not an exciting update but an update none the less lol.

I took a break from the frag system and decided to switch out my rodi unit. I was running a 100gpd air, water, ice rodi which I added a booster pump and inline tds meter to. I "upgraded" to a 100gpd vertex 4 stage. I was kind of bummed because my previous system was a 5 stage but my tap water tds is pretty low so the loss of the stage shouldn't matter much.

Why do you need 2 tds meter?

I got this second hand. I am assuming the guy wanted to see if onboard tds was accurate? Only reason I could think of. Either way I don't plan on using it lol

So I plumbed the Geo's Reef reactor tonight. I have it running from my manifold I made off the return and I have it then dumping into the filter sock. I also added a tee with a ball valve so when I change out the carbon I can run water thru it to rinse while doing a water change. I then added an additional valve on the return section of the reactor so I can shut off flow when rinsing the carbon. Can't have any carbon dust enter the system

Got my screen top made for the frag system. I know real exciting right? Lol

Oh, and I also threw some frags in, just to make it look like something is in there lol

Wow, a week without an update lol

So since the LEAR swap was awesome and now have time to devote back to my system I was able to get a couple things done. First was I finally hooked up my WXM module to the apex so now all my vortechs on both systems are now easily controllable with a push of a button. I also hooked up an extra EB4 to the 180 since I needed a few more sockets.

Another thing I did was decided that since fusion is so easy to use and rarely ever touch the stock controller on the apex I mounted a Samsung galaxy tablet near my tank so I can use that to make changes. Now I know I could just use my phone but this is easier and of course has the "cool" factor for when friends and family come over lol.

And next I am working on making new dosing containers. I am using the OXO air tight 1 gallon containers and will tap the lids to hold murlock bulkheads for the tubing. I'll take more pics as I get them completed.

Got one of the new dosing containers done. The first lid I drilled I broke because of using too much pressure drilling and it snapped the locking mechanism on the lid, so in the trash it went. But the second one came out pretty nice. I found these containers at my local target.

Also my brother is helping me hook my webcam up to view the tanks. It's still pretty rough, have to permanently mount it and run the Ethernet cable thru the wall but it's coming along though. We are having problems getting it to go thru apex fusion so hopefully I can get that figured out soon. Here is a quick pic of what I see from my desktop

Just found your thread George. I absolutely love the pic your wife took with your baby girl. Looks like you have a little fragger in the works

So I finally got to clean up my dosing pump setup. Finished up plumbing the OXO containers and I hid all the plumbing by drilling holes in the top of the cabinet and ran it up under the top so its not visible from the front. Turned out pretty decent I think.

Mounted my camera in its permanent spot today. Also ran the Ethernet cable thru the ceiling to conceal it. Next up is again trying to get it to work thru fusion.
