You can also look into the benefits of Algae Scrubbers. A Santa Monica HOG1 would work in this tank. I run a Surf 2xx in my 130g and a HOG 1x in my 40g. Some people swear by them and that they no longer use a skimmer or do water changes. I am new to them. I went from cleaning my glass every 3 days to bi-weekly once the Surf started producing. My HOG has only been online for a few days.
