Infection is raging in my leg.

Back in hospital again. They said if they can't resolve this infection, I will either lose my leg or die. Ain't that a kick in the teeth?

Stay strong.

Make sure your case is being followed by a competent infectious disease MD. Get the name of the pathogen and the current medications you are prescribed for that pathogen. Always get 2nd and 3rd opinions.

It's easy to become overwhelmed when faced with a such situation, take it one day at a time.

You are your own best advocate.

I do have an infectious disease doc on the team. So far we have stopped it from spreading, now we just have to iradicate it. It's strep group B, which I am told is uncommon for healthy adults, but I seem to be a carrier for some reason, then when I get run down....bam. Anyway, I'm getting some serious IV antibiotics and I'm not going to except death or amputation. I'll post more as I learn more.
