I am going to try to finish up the framing today when I get off of work. If I can get it painted today, that would put me ahead of schedule for once! I have to head down to VA Beach to take care of my daughter while my wife coaches her gymnastics team. Ill only have 2 hours before I need to head down there, crossing my fingers that I don't hit traffic!

Framing completed! Rock solid! Fits together perfectly and is as square as 3 store bought oversized squares! Didn't have time to sand or prime the frame today, hopefully tomorrow when we get home!

Check out that 5'x3' footprint!! Oh heck yes! 15 sq ft of reef-estate!

So this evening I sanded the entire stand smooth with a 200 grit sanding block. I wiped it down and then applied the second coat of paint. This coat is much smoother! Being that I use a spray gun to get an even coat, I will be sanding with a higher 800 grit wetsand paper to smooth out the small rough edges. Then I am going to put one more coat of paint on it and end with a 1200 grit wetsanding to polish it up.

The multi steps of paint and sanding are what make it nice and clean and furniture grade! The facade will have atleast 4 coats of paint if not 5.

I also made a mess pouring the paint through the paint filter.. It slipped out of my hand... Atleast the stand is coming together nicely right? :-D

So instead of going with Georgian Grey since it looks like primer, I changed the final 2 coats of paint to a new color called Bayside, which also happens to be the name of one of my favorite bands.
