Is a controller WORTH it for me?

It comes in very handy on larger systems.

You can have it: Act as your top off, Light timer, Pump controller, Calcium Reactor Controller

And even more complex task such as: Have it add Lime water (kalkwasser) only if the pH is below a certain point.

It can even e-mail , or text you if an error occurs such as a Leak, Poweroutage, etc
With Tunze osmolator no other control is needed. Most led lighting has built in timer. Kalk being added is a good one but could also be done with a ph controller. Emails about trouble does not help if you are a long way away. I would want one only because I like gadgets.

Yes you can do it without a controller a controller just makes it easier
