Hi guys,

Got this super "flat" looking zoa or mushroom.

Can't quite make it. Can you Id, if it's a zoa and if not what it is ?

Dont think thats a pavona laying that flat. Mushrooms come in so many colors and variety its hard to tell which that is.

Haha I will call it psychedelic shrooms.

I guess time will tell as they do their thing, I will observe to be more certain of the coral.

It's just so strange how flatly attached the coral is, and very different from morphs I've seen.

Maybe I will try to feed the coral to see how is it's feeding response.

(If it's morph they usually make a little cone shape to gobble the food from observing my morphs in the tank).

Cheers fellas.

If it's just a single polyp? How else should it grow. I have the same kind of growth in my tank. Growth pattern isn't useful for identification. If there is no skeleton underneath it's a mushroom.

Definitely not a shroom; it's some sort of stony coral. Hard to ID when just a juvenile; grow it out and see what looks like.
