We originally kept majority of our jawbreakers in our 120g grow out frag tank
But because of chemical warfare and a detachment issues. We went for for a nano to make things easier. So far I had no luck with any of them attaching or growing.
My apartment has no insulation or so I think because it’s cold and water hits low 70°f and I am running a 150w heater ( I ran two at one point for an hour and it made my water 82)

Routine:
Everyday :
• temperature
•check for any dead fish
Every other day
• wash sock and clean algae
•micro feed

every 3 days or weekly
•check parameters
•scoop a cup of tank water for new water

Best of luck with the tank :smiling-face: If your water temperature fluctuates that much, you may want to address this with a proper heater / controller.

What do you use now?

I suggest next time you change you get a titanium heater with a seperate controller :)

Your temperature fluctuates too much, a fair bit more than what's expected even with a heater like this.

Even with the temperature in your flat changing, a 100w heater that works should be plenty enough for this tank.

Why no rocks in the tank? Where do your fish hide and sleep? Micro feeding? Poor fish.
Well, I don’t want to overfeed considering that this is only a 4.8 gallon tank. So I’m very mindful of how I where keep my parameters.

I feel about 5 to 15 rodi pellets (medium )

Yeah, if you lose enough fish that your daily routine includes checking for dead ones, then you may have larger issues. I'd get a properly sized heater with a good thermostat or external controller that will actually maintain a consistent temperature.

I'd also worry less about "micro feeding" and more about feeding the fish what they actually need. Water changes on a 5g tank are easy. Easy enough that there's really no reason to starve the fish trying to keep nutrients in check.

You mentioned that you check parameters, but what do you check, and what are they?

As for mushrooms detaching... In my experience, that's typically due to either light or flow. Are you just running the stock return pump? What are you using for light?
