I was addressing your frustration. You can add ammonia to test the cycle / or continue the cycle.
Ah, gotcha, sorry. I did add ammonia and will probably have to again because my first fish is in QT for another 2 weeks so there is nothing happening in the DP at the moment. It’s clearing 2ppm in about 28-30 hours so it’s likely cycled. My frustration comes from having a chart for a product with instructions that are literally the antithesis of what 99% of ppl in the hobby suggest and then not have the process mimic the literature. My work requires me to be very exact with data and everything I do should be able to be replicated by anyone who uses my notes. Reefing is apparently not very like that. Lol

I have 2 100 watt heaters on my 50 gallon system. It depends partly on the temperature in the room, how much heat you'll need.
