Background.
This tank is 3 1/2 months old.
Started with a 175 halide for a few days. Went to a 250 for 2 months then 2 16hds for a couple weeks now the K7.

I was going to run the 250 for a year but I sold the halides and run 100% leds across all systems now.
Was dosing esv 2 part with dsr trace.

All live rock came from my other systems. All rock sits on a 15x15x1.5" frag rack.

Jebao ow-25 with Tunze 1073.008 return pump.
The 25 runs on wave 1. The flow hits the front glass and flows up through the scape.

Tunze nano ato with 5g bucket.

No heater as room runs 80.

Running the K7 on their sps program for now. I did delete 1hr at max.
K7 is 12" off the surface.
At 8" down I get 250 par. Will take some more readings in a few days.

10% WC once a month so 2g's

I just started A4R 3 days ago. Started at 5ml day one, 7.5 day 2, and 10ml day 3 today. Using esv to keep alk at 7 until the A4R starts supplying alk.
I was dosing 12ml of esv 2 part twice a day to maintain an alk of 7.

Dosed 12.5 ml of A4R today, day 4. Alk was 6.2 so I added 5ml of esv alk to get it to 7.
I hung the shade. Tank looks alot brighter. It keeps alot of the light over the tank.
I will get some par readings tomorrow, with and without.

I Talked with @Lou Ekus the last few days. Thanks for your patience! I understand A4R better now.
So today is day 9 dosing A4R.
Their was no drop in alk from yesterdays 22ml add. Alk 7.3, Ca is 400.
It took time so be patient when starting A4R.
I added 22ml this morning and will check alk level tomorrow.
Tank looks good.

Im liking the K7 and still running the sps program. I plan to adjust the look vs par later this week.
Par is 250 around 8" from the surface.
Couple pics. Plan to just growout

Today alk is holding at 7 and ca 400. Dosing is 22ml of A4R a day all at once in the morning by hand.
Its early but the system and corals have not skipped a beat. It took 9 days to stabilize so be patient.

I am working on the K7 settings now. 3 hrs peak of sps program all at 95%+
First hr is both blue at 30% the rest 0.
Second hr is both blue at 50%
the rest 0
Hr 3,4,5, blue 100% white 50% the rest 30%
Hr 6,7,8, full sps program all at 95%.
Hr 9,10,11 blue 100% white 50% the rest 30%
Hr 12 blue 50% the rest 0
Hr 13 blues 30% the rest 0.

So this is my current schedule I will run based on what the tank needs and looks like.

Full sps of 95% for the entire cycle is causing some green hair algae to appear. Most likely due to the 95% white.
I will check par later today at different levels.

Added a bag of Purigen to help reduce no3 to my range of <5.
Everything looks good at a no3 of 12.

The 3 headed frogspawn has started to grow another head.

The color looks better now that I have started to adjust the led settings.
This is now the growout phase. No more coral to be added. Remember I said that, lol.

Day 18 of A4R. Alk is holding steady at 7 with 22ml of A4R.
Coraline spots need to be scraped off the front glass daily.
Ca at 410
Mag 1320
I will follow both and adjust if needed.
So far its been very simple to implement. I like simple.
Time will tell as I plan to run A4R for min 6 months on this system.
Stay tuned.

Frogspawn grew a head. The yellow hammer I got from lfs lost 1 head.

Currently dosing A4R at 17ml 2x a day. A4R ph was 7.2 so adding all 34ml at once dropped ph by .3.
17ml 2x drops ph by .2. It recovers in about an hour.
Not much to report corals are growing and color is good.

I did remove the frogspawn and replace with a meller yeller small colony. Added and moved around a few more.

Also added a small purple dottyback and a small tuxedo urchin.
A few pics today.

Do you think one of these lights could light a 30 inch IM50 lagoon that will be Acro dominant? I don’t want to have to use two.

I would run 2 for par and coverage.
Coverage I get but par wouldn’t be enough for a 15 inches of water? I figured high enough would get me good par half way up even in the sides. I really am trying to avoid the additional energy cost because energy on the island is prohibitively expensive.

One will work just not optimal for all sps. NP says it will cover 24x22 for sps. Anyway your trying to light a 30"x24" area with a 5"x8.28" light.

No way to tell spread values without a par meter.
Im at 10" height and get 250 par 1/2 way down and 200 on the edges in my 20g 18" cube with 100% all channels. The tank is an aio and the display aera is only 14"x18".

so what set of lights do you like the best so far over that tank? seems like everything works, what's your preference?
For the money it would be the K7. However I have only been running it for 2 months. 2 16hds at twice the cost gave great results. 250 Halide was too much.
So today I would pic the K7 vs the others. Good growth, color, and par.
I could easily replace all 4 gen5 Radions on my 80 with 4 K7's and be happy. They are a copy of gen 4 radions and worth a look for the price, imo.

Hey @Mako'sReef - Hope you're still browing the forums. Had a quick question regarding your light settings and spectrum if you remember. When you say you ran blues at 100%, whites at 50% and all others at 30%, does that 30% include the UV/Purple channel, or did you consider UV/Purple as part of the 100% for the blues?

Looking forward to your next build. Thanks in advance!
