Just picked up some travertine from big box store to use as coral frag discs. Is there anything I need to do to them aside from rinse them do before I put in tank?

I would just soak it in rodi for a couple of days. It should all be fine to use but the lighter colors are more pure and I'd be more comfortable with those

Glad I ended up going with these. I was thinking about making my own but these are so much easier. I saw the larger ones also but still need to convert my 120 for those.

I have used several different sizes/shapes of the same for years now. I never rinse them first - just cut a frag, put a drop of superglue gel on the tile, attach the frag and put in in the tank. IMHO, they work great, are way cheaper and easier to use than "frag plugs" and if it's an encrusting coral, there's no need to remove the frag when you put it into the DT

I've used travertine as frag tiles and I've also lined the bottom of my 75g tank with three of the 18x18". I never soak them beforehand and I can't say it's caused any problems. Couldn't hurt to rinse them off first though, sometimes they're a little dusty/gritty. Really the only complaint I have is that I wish they were a bit thinner sometimes.

Just picked up these also. Petco in My area carries it. Only cost 15.00 since they match their online prices. Some nice little pieces to fill in voids and hide my par meter wire
