Thanks for sharing, defintley looks much better without the reflector.

No problem! Agreed it's a huge improvement. I had a piece of cardboard over top the tank which made it immediately apparent it was the right move to take off those reflectors - it's actually a lot easier to see in the photograph than with the naked eye.

I had the realization after watching the BRS video on the new Phillips LED. This new fixture has a frosted pane of glass over the LEDs which helps to diffuse the light more evenly. The tests BRS ran showed a huge improvement in light spread and evenness. That's when it became obvious to me that my LEDs were doing the exact opposite. So bye bye reflectors.

Nope I managed to kill it! Bummer, right? However my Oregon Tort from DD is doing great and super deep blue!

How is your SPS collection going? I haven't looked at your tank/build thread in forever. I know at one point you had some sweet collector pieces and colonies. Hope you are doing well.

Bummer, no one seems to have a colony shot of the Granulosa. My tank is doing alright. In another year the corals will be big enough that my tank will be picture worthy.

These fish crack me up, can't take any photos OR videos without them swarming. Shot with my iPhone. Going to try some videos with my DSLR if I can get the custom WB setup right.

Here is skimmate from the Avast Cone 180 with swabbie. Maybe 5-6 days worth? What I love about this skimmer is that is consistently pulls waste, primarily due to the swabbie.

I haven't posted an update in a really long time, so I'm long overdue to post a few pictures of the reef. I haven't been able to get good shots of the aquarium since I run so much blue lightening. Tonight I seemed to have gotten most of that worked out, although the images are a lot more grainy than I would like! I'm hoping to upgrade from my Nikon D40 sometime next year to a D5300. I hope that will allow me to take better pictures.

I think I have a new favorite Sps! Beautiful tank all around!
