This is very true! I thought the same thing when filming this tank too! He mentions in the video though he does a grow a taste for a certain coral at one point!

Mine literally grunts every few minutes at something (sounds like a malfunctioning pump). Reef-safe so far...

I'm intrigued by the no water changes method he uses. I've certainly known of plenty of people who don't do water changes and keep stellar tanks, but he mentions using a "salt mix without sodium". I wonder where he gets that? I haven't seen a product like that.
