I was given a monti cap with some corals I bought the other day, and am struggling to figure out where I would like to place it. I have never kept one in the past, so not 100% sure what to expect. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

These are the 2 main pains that the tank is viewed through.

I was thinking maybe on this section here, same spot from each glass.

I dont know what monti you have (scrolling or flat) but usually flat that grows in layers that grow towards the light if that makes sense

They grow out. They like to soak up light. It will grow flat. It will shade everything under it.
If you have 100/150ish par at the sand bed, mount it very low on a rock.
As it grows, it may form other "cups" that grow up.
I also like to put them on the sides near the glass so not to obstruct view.

I love the look of them, just unsure how to handle it in my 45gal(24x24x18), don’t want it to take up the whole tank or obstruct the view of too much of the tank. I was told an orange monti cap.
