Ouch that's not a good one to keep losing. Full spectrums, and all maul morphs for that matter are a pain in the rear to keep and grow. Strats suck at growing. Flaming Mohicans are super slow. And there are so many that will all die the second they are fragged.

the PE's I seem to have will grow rapidly at one point. Like weeds. Then they seem to start to die off and then it happens again and again. So Id say PE's for sure and purple hornets

I've never had any trouble with any PE zoos. They grow slowly but I have never had any meltdowns with them. I totally 100% agree on any Caribbean zoos. They are extremely tempermental. The nice gorgeous blue ones most of all.

How do you know which ones are from the Caribbean?

I've read that some zoanthids and palythoas actually like "dirty" water with higher nitrates and detritus. I know that azooxanthellae uses nitrates in it's metabolic processes and that could be one reason that a zoa/paly could die if the water was too clean. Just something to ponder about.

I read a lot that Carbon Kills Zoanthids which worries me as I use Carbon but do not have any problems.

But at the same time I worry every day that my Zoanthid Tank could Crash at any Time because I use Carbon.

What do you guys think?

Is there any Proven Facts to this Theory or is it Made Up?

This is a Cool Thread.

Does anybody know if there is a "Fastest Growing Zoanthid Thread"?

And if so can I get a Link to it?

For me it's utter chaos, every frag I've ever had has melted. Only one that does it for me!

z's and p's that I've tried multiple times:

clementines - 4 times. I am now on my 4th time and an 11 polyp frag has melted to one polyp + a tiny one. Hoping they make it.

blue agaves - 3 times. The last go around was a colony of 40+ and still no luck.

fruit loops - 2 times

lakers = 2 times

emeralds on fire - 2 times, working on a 3rd, lol

Also, all three of the traditional hornets don't thrive. I still have blue, purple and red, but they just don't seem happy.

All these stuggles and yet I have 75+ other varieties that do very well. Frustrating.

pink zippers seems to be the hardest one for me. ive had 2 frags with them, and the first one detached from its frag, and disappeared. it was barely hanging on to begin with, and the second, which i still have, only partially opens, and has shrunk considerably
