No wonder I could not find any wrasse that looked like this dude.


This is the closest dotty I could find. My dude I filmed was acting pretty stressed, so I assume if it was this type, was stress colored.

Any one have one of these? He was with only one fish (yellow tail damsel) and minimal rock cover so fish was acting stressed and a little protective over his one hiding spot.

Are they normally aggressive or just acting this way from this current conditions?

Definitely can see that with the behavior in the store, but I didn't want to judge too harsh since store conditions are not always the safest feeling.

It depends on which dottyback, I have 2 orchid dottybacks and they are peaceful with any fish as large or larger than they are.

I tried to introduce a small yellow Coris and they did not like her, she was only 1.5 inches and they are about 3. So I moved her to the 40 gallon.

Other dottybacks are just nasty to anything in "their" territory.
