I use the blue plasti dip first then the black plasti as the second coat it came out black with some lite blue streaks. The stuff is great will not come off when something touches the back of your tank.

I just painted my tank black. I went to Micheals (the craft store) and they showed me special glass paint. Smelly but covered really well. Took 5 coats but it looks perfect...

It's all In the prep work... clean and prep the surface to be painted very well and go for It!
I really don't think It matters what paint you use (assuming black color choice?) any paint will look deep-gloss-black once properly applied and then viewed from the front of the aquarium through the glass IMO, the glass is acting like a "clear coat".

I used some leftover semi-gloss black high temp engine paint I already had sitting around... you would never know, it looks very deep gloss black once applied.
