Wow, that's good to know that Weldon 16 will bond acrylic and ABS.
The folks at weldon kept it somewhat vague as I expected because you can't replicate results every time around but they told me the bonding properties and strength should be adequate. The test chunk I did I was able to break off after 72hrs but I had to really twist and pull on it to get it it break. I had acrylic and abs mixed into each side of the break so that tells me the materials had completly melted and bonded to one another.

I wonder if adding some form of bracing to the box would help since it isn't mounted to a side wall of the tank. Of course, I've never killed anything that I didn't go back and overkill a few times, .

Just over 95 gallons to get it right below the teeth on the overflow box. So far so good the overflow box is bone dry on the inside with no leaks. The overflow does have a little bow in the 1' long sides but not enough to cause me any worries.

So far just 3 pinhole leaks where the tenecore diy logo is at. I have them marked and will seal up with some weldon 16 after I empty the tank tomorrow. All of the seams I welded look to be doing great as well as the bond between the acrylic and the abs!

Looking great man!
What are your plans as far as lighting and flow?
I've got 2 reefbreeder photon v2+ fixtures I'm going to hang over the tub. I have not figured out my flow situation yet. I may go with something cheap and temporary until I see a couple more used mp40s come up for a good price.

i would have put a bottom on the over flow and ran my bulk heads though it and siliconed it to the bottom

That's another way to do it, but I don't see the need. Once the weldon is cured, the abs and acrylic bond extremely well and it is as near a sold chunk as you could ask for.

Finally up and running! Everything is working great and running silent. The @Tenecor Aquariums diy overflow is working perfectly and so far I have not found any leaks!

I'm going to drywall the ceiling and get the lights up this weekend.

Time to dig out the fishing pole and catch some tangs from the main tank!

Managed to net and move the first fish over. My 5.5" sailfin started crusing laps around the tub with its fin breaking the surface like a shark. I think the extra swimming room will really be appreciated by these tangs and rabbit fish of mine that are starting to pass the half a foot mark.

Looking great man!

Have you seen any bowing, stress on these tubs?

Looking great man!

Have you seen any bowing, stress on these tubs?
Yes these tubs will bow slightly, the stand has a frame incorporated around the tub to help with this and it keeps the long sides from bowing any more than ¼". This does require you to make sure it's supported well because the bottom will bow as well. One of my somewhat local fish shops runs these tubs and he has a little bottom bowing but he only ran supports across the bottom rather then adding a ¾ sheet of ply like I did. Ive got no bottom bowing. This was important to me with how I attached my overflow, I did not want the bonds to be under constant stress from the surfaces trying to deflect from their original position. I am super happy with the tub so far. You still can't get this amount of growing area for the same price any other way. Just under 300$ for one of these tubs if you can find a local grow shop that will bring them in for you.
