HI Everyone,
As many of you probably already know. PFO seems to have gone out of business and we have quite a few Solaris LED hoods left instock. We are selling them below our cost, but they do not have a warranty, but might be the last chance for a while to put LED fixture over your tank.

Did PFO go out of business period or just the LED department?? Are they still going to make their Metal Halide ballasts?

Ya, we are assuming they are done from the law suite. I don't understand why they didn't at least post a message that they were out of business though, unless it was some type of court gag order, but I think they just lost too much money in the law suit to survive even with there other horitculture products.

I feel so sorry for all Solaris owners. If a part of a halide light system or T5 system dies, you have lots of replacement choices, but I guess it would be really hard to source replacement parts for these becasue they are so specialized.

There was mention of someone that could repair these on a Reef Central thread, just an FYI. A search under Solaris might turn up the thread.

We have found a source for an I5-ballast. It's not original and would require wiring, but at least gives customers with a unit an option. I have a feeling Aqua illumination's will come up with some type of service/parts for Solaris. That way people with hoods won't be completely out.

I haven't heard of anyone going after Aqua illumination's yet. I think PFO applied for the LED patent and that is what caused the patent war with the other company, but hard telling if the other company will go after anyone that any type of LED in there hood.
